The foundation of your website consists of various elements, which we call posts. These posts are the building blocks of your website and are divided into channels (blog articles, frequently asked questions, and more) and structures (pages). Via the “Posts” button in the main menu on the left, you will find a complete overview. Here, you can add new channels and structures and fill them with content.
Below is an overview of the most common channels.
Hero
With the “Hero” channel, you can display a large image, with or without text on it. A Hero can sometimes also include extra functionality. You can link a Hero to the “Hero” block in the Block Editor, which will then display it on the website. In general, a Hero is placed at the top of a page, but of course this is entirely up to you.
Jumbotron*
With the “Jumbotron” channel, you can display a large image, with or without text on it. A Jumbotron is generally used as an alternative to the Hero. The design of a Jumbotron is often slightly different. You can link a Jumbotron to the “Jumbotron” block in the Block Editor, which will then display it on the website.
Slide*
With the “Slide” channel, you can display a large image, with or without text on it. You can link multiple Slides to the “Slide” block in the Block Editor. This creates a carousel of images that users can browse through. Sometimes a Slide resembles a Hero and/or Jumbotron, but it can also have a completely different appearance.
(Blog) articles
With the “Article” channel, you can create a news post or blog post. These posts are usually displayed automatically on the page where the “Articles” template has been selected. Just like with a page, you will also find the settings for an article on the right-hand side. Here you can, for example:
- set or schedule the publication date;
- add an image;
- add tags.*
Frequently asked questions
With the “Question” channel, you can create frequently asked questions and provide them with an answer. These questions are usually displayed automatically in the “Frequently Asked Questions” block. On the right-hand side of the screen, you will once again find the settings. Here, for example, you can link related questions.
Banners*
With the “Banner” channel, you can create an element that can be linked to a fixed position on a page.
