On a detail page, you can click the plus icon to open a selection menu. In this menu, you will find different types of blocks that you can use to fill your website with content. You will also find a number of patterns here: collections of blocks that we have already put together for you.
Below is an overview of the most commonly used block types.
Text
With the “Text” block, you can add text to pages and other types of posts.
Heading
With the “Heading” block, you can add a heading. In the settings on the right-hand side, you can set the heading type, text color, and alignment. In most cases, it is more convenient to use the “Text” block, then select part of the text and choose the desired heading level from the “Paragraph” drop-down menu.
Quote*
With the “Quote” block, you can make a quote or statement stand out more clearly.
Kolommen
With the “Columns” block, you can create your own layout with multiple columns. When you add this block, you will see different layout options, such as two equal columns or a small left column and a larger right column. After choosing a layout, you can add new blocks inside each column via the plus icon. In the settings on the right-hand side, you can adjust, among other things, the background color, alignment, layout, and the spacing** between the columns.
**The available settings may vary depending on the version of the CMS.
Image
With the “Image” block, you can add an image to your page. You can choose an image from the media library or upload one from your device. In the settings on the right-hand side, you can, for example, adjust the aspect ratio of the image.
Gallery*
With the “Gallery” block, you can add multiple images to your page. You can select images from the media library or upload one or more from your device. The images in a gallery are often clickable and will then open in a lightbox (an enlarged view on the screen).
Hero
With the “Hero” block, you can link and display a previously created Hero on the page. You do this by selecting an existing Hero. You can create a new Hero via the “Hero” channel.
Jumbotron*
With the “Jumbotron” block, you can link and display a previously created Jumbotron on the page. You do this by selecting an existing Jumbotron. You can create a new Jumbotron via the “Jumbotron” channel.
Carousel*
With the “Carousel” block, you can link previously created Slides and display them on the page in a carousel that users can scroll through. You do this by selecting one or more existing Slides. You can create a new Slide via the “Slide” channel.
Form
With the “Form” block, you can display a form on the website that you created via the forms module.
Questions*
With the “Questions” block, you can show an overview of frequently asked questions. You do this by selecting existing questions. You create these questions via the “Question” channel.
YouTube
With the “YouTube” block, you can add a YouTube video to your page. To do this, you only need to paste the video URL (web address) into the block.
Twitter, Instagram and other social media*
With the “Twitter” block, you can embed a post (formerly a Tweet, now a post from X) on a page. With the “Instagram” block, you can display an Instagram post in the same way. All other blocks named after a social media platform work in a similar way.
Patterns*
With a pattern, you can add a pre-composed group of blocks all at once. This allows you to quickly and easily fill channels and structures with layout and content. Patterns are a very important part of the CMS. We recommend experimenting with the pre-composed patterns for the best results.
